Supersymmetric quantum mechanics

Tuesdays 5-6, 143 Altgeld Hall

Spring 2020

We will do a series of worksheets with the goal of learning something about Witten's classic, Supersymmetry and Morse theory. For some history, see Bott's Morse theory indomitable, and for a more modern take, see section 10 of Gaiotto-Moore-Witten. I also recommend checking out the lectures and supporting materials from Bullimore's short course at Perimeter, Supersymmetric quantum mechanics and all that.

List of topics by week (subject to change)

Tuesday, February 4th: The quantum harmonic oscillator.

Tuesday, February 11th: Quantum mechanics on manifolds.

Tuesday, February 18th: Differential forms and the Hodge star.

Tuesday, March 3rd: Supersymmetric quantum mechanics with zero super potential.

Tuesday, March 10th: Hodge theory and de Rham cohomology. One reference is here.

Tuesday, March 24th: Supersymmetric quantum mechanics with a Morse super potential.

We're going online. If you're not already zoomed out, email me for coordinates.
